Australia 2017/2018

Welcome to DownUnder!

In March 2017 I left Germany with only one big backpack and another little one.

My destination: Sydney, Australia.

My goal: One Year of Backpacking in DownUnder 🙂 Due to Covid the amount of backpacker in Australia went rapidly, however the crisis is over and I’m sure the backpacking adventure will rise back up! So, in case you’re planning to apply for a work and travel visa, but your still unsecure about what to expect, I’m here to share my experiences.

My travel-route over the year ended up looking like this:

March-April 2017 Sydney

April Melbourne

May Great Ocean Road + Adelaide

May/June two-weeks Roadtrip from Gawler, South Australia to Perth, Western Australia (BEST TRIP OF MY LIFE, click here to see the route and pictures of our trip)

June Perth / Indonesia – Bali (more Infos about Bali, click here)

July-September Japan (Okinawa – Tokyo – Osaka)

September Cairns, North/East Australia

Oktober – December trying to get my 90-days-of-farmwork so i could apply for my second year visa

January – March 2018 Cairns, North/East Australia, working at Adventure Cairns and Beyond as travel agent assistent.

As you can imagine I met a lot of people and looking back it’s an experience and adveture in my life I wouldn’t want to miss, however there are some things i would do different next time 🙂 So if you have questions and want some input from an inside, hit me up!
